David Stevens is a Boston-based saxophonist and multifaceted musician, with a diverse career as a performer, educator, and music administrator. As a saxophonist and woodwind doubler, he is active in classical, New Music, jazz, musical theater, and improvisation. He is a founding member of the Jamaica Plain Saxophone Quartet and performs regularly with this group in the greater Boston area. He has performed as a pit musician at the Wheelock Family Theater, The Company Theatre (Norwell), Boston Children's Museum, and regional theaters throughout Massachusetts. Notable performances include the premiere of Contrafactum I-III for saxophone and French horn by Stratis Minakakis in Jordan Hall, engagements on Boston Conservatory’s Guest Artist Series, the Museum of Fine Art’s SoundBites series, and with groups that include the International Contemporary Ensemble, ALEA III, Hub New Music, and Megalopolis Saxophone Orchestra. In 2012, he won the Concerto Competition at the Masterworks Festival in Indiana.

David Bryan Rashbaum (born February 7, 1962) is an American musician, best known as the keyboard player for the rock band Bon Jovi, in which he also co-wrote songs and performed backing vocals. In 2018, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Bon Jovi.[1] He is also known for writing the music and co-writing the lyrics with Joe DiPietro for the musical Memphis, for which he won the Tony Award for Best Original Score.
Early life
[edit]David Bryan Rashbaum was born on February 7, 1962, in Perth Amboy, New Jersey and raised in Edison, New Jersey. His father, Eddie Rashbaum, played the trumpet. Bryan was raised Jewish.[2][3] He attended elementary school at Clara Barton, where he played many instruments including violin, viola, trumpet and clarinet. He also attended Herbert Hoover Middle School, then J. P. Stevens High School, from which he graduated. Bryan began to learn piano at age seven and played keyboards for a band called Transition with bass player Steve Sileo and lead singer Mike Ziegel.
