To my foreigner friends

I am not sure what you have in your country, but in the Philippines we have lots of good radio stations that you can listen to especially in the morning. When I was in my early 20’s, I remember reading a book about Margaret Thatcher who said that the first thing she did every morning was to turn on the radio and listen to the news. In the Philippines, we have those stations too but they are mostly in the A.M. band. What most young people listen to are those in the F.M. band since they are more hip because their DJs mostly talk in English and play cool youngish music. Some of those DJs were born and raised in the US and came back to flaunt their twangs but some have real-Filipino accents and no pretensions of being elitists.

One of those who talk in decent English and has no pretention of being an elitist is Chico Garcia of the morning radio show The Morning Rush ( Monster Radio). His co-host is a Filipina, Delamar Arias who is also educated in the Philippines but spent most of his childhood years overseas.
