Estranged son challenges Hedy Lamarr's will

SANFORD -- The estranged adopted son of Hedy Lamarr has challenged the actress' will, which left him nothing.

James Lamarr Loder, 61, of Omaha, wants the screen siren's will thrown out and he wants to be put in charge of her $3 million estate.

Loder alleged that Lamarr was "of unsound mind" when she signed her last will Nov. 3. He also claimed the will was the result of "fraud, duress, coercion or undue influence" by those named in the will.

The attorney who drafted the will, Joe Cox, of Naples, said Lamarr was alert and knew exactly what she was doing when she signed the will. He said he had never heard of James Loder. Lamarr's son agreed.

"She was in very, very, very sharp mental health," said Anthony Loder.

The will was signed three months before Lamarr's death in January. She was 85.

It leaves about $1.8 million to her son, Anthony Loder, 53, who owns a cellular phone store in Los Angeles. The will also leaves another $1.2 million to Lamarr's daughter, Denise Loder-DeLuca, 55, a former Nordstrom employee in Seattle.

Four friends received about $83,000 each.

How Lamarr and Loder became estranged is unclear and whether they reconciled before her death is uncertain.

"My parents did visit Hedy every time they were down in F
