Hi, MD friends, I am Longineu Parsons III, the former Yellowcard drummer. I recently formed a brand new band, This Legend.
Playing drums has always been a huge part of my life. I started at the age of two and played my first show when I was five years old. One thing that has never changed is how I get ready for shows. I always warm up and mentally get myself ready for what is about to come. I warm up with a challenge. I find my weakness and strengthen it through repetition.
I warm up every part of my body for an hour before I play by doing yoga. That includes my fingers, wrists, arms, legs, feet, ankles, back, and my core. When I am done, I pick up the sticks and begin swinging them around. I put my iPod on and play songs from my favorite bands and practice to them.
Then it’s time to get my gear ready. I think it’s very important that you are comfortable with your drumkit. I always sit behind it and make sure everything is right where I need it placed. Longineu Parsons
Longineu Warren "LP" Parsons III (born February 16, 1980) is a French-born American rock musician. He is best known for his time as the drummer for the American pop punk band Yellowcard.
Parsons has been playing the drums since he was five; he played with his father, Longineu W. Parsons II, in his band The Longineu Parsons Ensemble.

Yellowcard (1997–2014)

Parsons joined Yellowcard in 1997 along with Ben Dobson, Todd Clary, Warren Cooke and Ben Harper after meeting at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts. He has been with the band ever since 1997's Midget Tossing until 2013's Ocean Avenue Acoustic.[1]
Other work: 2008–present
During the Yellowcard hiatus, Parsons played drums for Adam Lambert from October 2009 through September 2010. Parsons founded rap-rock group LPMD with producer Miles M. Davis.[2] Their debut album, Off The Record, was released on September 27, 2011. Parsons formed a new band, This Legend, in early 2014. Ben Harper, another former Yellowcard member, also is a member of the band.

In June 2014, Parsons and former Yellowcard bandmate Ben Harper formed a new band with Chris Castillo (lead vocals and rhythm guitar) and Steven Neufeld (bass guitar) called This Legend.[3][4]
